Fort Lauderdale native and daughter of Jamaican immigrants, Tasha M. Simmonds, Esq., graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Commercial Music Business.
She began practicing family law while a student at Barry University School of Law and, since becoming a licensed attorney in 2009, has continued to emphasize in family law. Her past experience also includes representation in estate planning, immigration, landlord-tenant and entertainment (copyright, trademark, contracts) matters in the private, solo and government practice arenas. Her clients appreciate her empathy and tenacious representation.
Attorney Simmonds also speaks up for abused, abandoned and neglected children and children subject to custody disputes as a Guardian ad Litem, and as an Attorney ad Litem for dependent children with special legal needs such as human trafficking victims.
Inheriting a love of music from her father, ska legend-turned-minister “Bobby Aitken”, Tasha enjoys singing, songwriting and playing guitar whenever she is not working, volunteering or spending time with family.
