Jennito Simon - Bio

Jennito Simon was born in Cite Soleil, Haiti. In 1992, his father, Wilfrid Simon, took a boat from Haiti setting its sight to the United States in order to escape capture and certain death. His father was able to get political asylum and in 1996 was able to complete the American story by having the rest of the immediate family relocate from Cite Soleil, Haiti to Pompano Beach, Florida.

Jennito knew he wanted to take full of advantage of his parentsí sacrifice and so he worked hard, moving from ESL (English as Second Language) classes to honors classes by the 7th grade. He then attended Fort Lauderdale High School, through its Pre-Law magnet program and after attended Florida State University graduating with a bachelors in Honors Economics earning an induction into Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, Jennito decided he would attend The Florida State University College of Law to accomplish his goal of being an attorney. In law school, Jennito and his team won the 2011 Mock Trial FJA competition, was an active member of the Black Law Studentís Association, and co-authored a book called: Haitian As Human. After law school, Jennito became a prosecutor in the 2nd Judicial District

Jennito has 27 months of experience as an Assistant State Attorney exclusively at the 2nd judicial Circuit. Jennito started his legal career practicing in county court in Leon County Florida. There he prosecuted misdemeanor criminal offenses. His first year as an prosecutor he had the second most trials tried and (won) in the entire circuit even though he didnít start work until May of that year.

Jennito then asked to be transferred to different counties in order to get more experience working in front of more diverse judges. Subsequently, he worked as an Assistant State Attorney in Gadsden and Liberty County. In Gadsden and Liberty he worked felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases. As a second year prosecutor Jennito was ranked 1st in cases taking to trial and won in the misdemeanor level. Jennito was promoted in the spring of 2015 to Felony and transferred back to Leon County to handle the Felony Domestic Caseload.

There, Jennito handled Habitual Felony Offenders, Prison Release Re-offender, and10-20-life cases. Additionally, he prosecuted serious Life Felony cases including several Murders, Aggravated Battery with A Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Battery w/ a Firearm. During his final two months as a prosecutor, Jennito sat second chair in back to back 1st degree murder trials. Aside from his vast and diverse experience in the criminal justice system Jennito speaks Haitian-Creole, is proficient in French, and heís actively learning Spanish.

Jennito feels because of his passion of trial advocacy, his experience in jury trial, motion drafting and litigation, along, with his diverse background, as an immigrant from Haiti, he has the perfect combination of skills, experience, and compassion to be your attorney.
